Quick Checks before your MOT

An MOT is essential for all road vehicles over 3 years old, and before you put your vehicle in for its yearly car check, make sure you do the following quick checks.

  • Brake pads should be looked at, and if they are quite low then change them. It’s a simple procedure and you don’t want to wind up failing an MOT for something as simple as that.
  • Lights should also be regularly checked, and any broken light on your vehicle can be replaced relatively easily.
  • Engine warning lights on your dashboard must be dealt with and no car can pass an MOT with any lights displayed, and they can be quickly turned off using a diagnostics device.
