Diagnosing a Damaged Shock Absorber

There are many different symptoms of a badly damaged shock absorber and these symptoms will often depend on the severity of the damage. You car may start out with a rattling sounds or perhaps vibrations coming from the steering wheel and gears stick as you’re driving, and these can be subtle clues that your shock absorbers need replacing. Uneven tyre wear is a great way of monitoring the situation, and if you regularly check your tyres and find that there are no issues, then there’s a good chance that the problem is not your shock absorbers. You may find your car doesn’t quite brake as sharply as it used to and this is another kind of sign, while your nose may be slightly lower to the ground than usual. Like many car problems there are plenty of different symptoms but if you have one or some of the issues we mentioned above then it could be time to get a mechanic to look at your shock absorbers and see if they’re on their way out.
