Checking out a Snapping Ball Joint

A ball joint is an extremely important part of a vehicle, and that’s because the control arms to the steering knuckles, so without them you do not have steering at all. If your ball joint is making clicking or snapping sounds then it must be looked at immediately. A damaged ball joint will make all the difference in an MOT. Ball joint should be lubricated, and a dry joint will increase friction and cause the steering to be a bit more difficult. The idea is to have a ball joint that can smoothly move in a variety of directions, but there are limits on how much it can move. Modern ball joints will pivot between the wheels and the suspension of a vehicle, and over time they will wear out, so make sure you keep an eye on their condition and listen out for any peculiar sounds.
